How Dry Eye Treatment works.
Dry eye isn't one condition, so it isn't one treatment. Instead of starting with a bottle of drops, we work the problem in a deliberate order - find the cause, then treat it at the source.
- 01Step 01
Diagnose the real driver
Dry-eye evaluationA focused dry-eye evaluation looks at how much tear you produce, how quickly it evaporates, the health of your meibomian (oil) glands, and any eyelid inflammation or surface damage. The goal is to identify which mechanism is actually causing your symptoms - because that determines everything that follows.
- 02Step 02
Stabilize the tear film
Targeted therapyBased on the cause, your plan may combine preservative-free lubricants, prescription anti-inflammatory drops, lid hygiene and warm compresses, omega-3 support, or meibomian gland therapy. Each piece targets a specific part of the tear film rather than masking symptoms.
- 03Step 03
Add in-office treatment when needed
IPL when indicatedWhen drops and home care aren't enough - often when meibomian gland dysfunction or ocular rosacea is the driver - in-office treatments such as IPL can address the inflammation at the eyelid margin directly, restoring healthier oil-gland function.
- 04Step 04
Track and adjust over time
OngoingDry eye is chronic, so we don't treat it once and walk away. We measure your response across follow-ups and adjust the plan - and if you're preparing for LASIK, SMILE, or cataract surgery, we stabilize the surface first so your measurements and healing aren't compromised.
Questions about the procedure? We'll walk you through all of it.
What to expect, start to finish.
- Step 0160 min

Dry-eye evaluation
We examine the ocular surface, eyelids, tear film, and meibomian glands to identify whether your issue is tear quantity, quality, inflammation, or a combination.
- Step 02Same visit

Care plan
Treatment is shaped around the findings: drops when they help, lid hygiene when the lids are driving symptoms, in-office treatment when gland dysfunction is the source.
- Step 03Daily

Home care
Most plans include a simple home rhythm that helps the gains from in-office treatment last longer.
- Step 04Ongoing

Follow-up & adjustment
Dry eye changes over time. We monitor symptoms and exam findings, then adjust if you need more support or maintenance therapy.

Why we don't discount Dry Eye Treatment
We don't sell session packages you might not need. Your plan is built around what your eyes actually require - nothing more. Cash, FSA/HSA, or 0% APR financing all work.
What patients say
Is dry eye treatment the same as IPL?
No. IPL is one treatment option for certain dry-eye patterns, especially meibomian gland dysfunction and ocular rosacea. Dry eye treatment is the broader plan. Why don't artificial tears fix my dry eye?
Artificial tears can help temporarily, but they often do not correct the eyelid inflammation, poor oil layer, or gland dysfunction that makes tears evaporate too quickly. Can dry eye affect LASIK or cataract measurements?
Yes. An unstable tear film can affect comfort, measurements, and healing. We often stabilize dry eye before recommending refractive or lens surgery. What is MGD treatment?
MGD treatment focuses on the meibomian oil glands along the eyelid margin. Depending on your exam, care may include lid hygiene, warm compresses, prescription therapy, gland expression, IPL, or maintenance treatment to improve the tear-film oil layer.Do you treat blepharitis and eyelid inflammation?
Yes. Blepharitis, eyelid inflammation, and ocular rosacea often overlap with dry eye and MGD. The right plan depends on whether bacteria, inflammation, gland blockage, or skin disease is driving the symptoms. Will I need treatment forever?
Some patients improve with a short structured plan. Others need maintenance because dry eye is chronic or tied to rosacea, medications, hormones, contact-lens history, or screen-heavy work. How much does dry eye treatment cost?
It depends on what your eyes need. Basic care, prescription therapy, and in-office treatments are different plans, we review pricing clearly before you commit.
