LASER VISION CORRECTION

All-Laser LASIK in Plano. Blade-free, planned from your corneal maps.

Overview

A custom-mapped laser procedure for your eyes alone.

All-Laser LASIK uses a femtosecond laser to create a corneal flap and an excimer laser to reshape the underlying cornea. Detailed mapping and refraction guide the treatment plan for each eye.

Your prescription, corneal curvature and thickness, pupil behavior, tear film, age, and overall eye health all affect candidacy and expectations. LASIK is intended to reduce dependence on glasses or contacts; no consultation should promise a specific line on the eye chart.

  • 100% blade-free
  • Wavefront- and topography-guided
  • ~15 minutes per eye
  • Aftercare included

How it works

How All-Laser LASIK works.

  1. 01Step 01

    Map your eye in 3D

    Diagnostics

Every All-Laser LASIK procedure begins with detailed corneal mapping and wavefront analysis. We measure the curvature, thickness, and unique optical fingerprint of each eye - including how light travels through your entire visual system - so the treatment plan is built from your diagnostics, not a generic protocol.

  2. 02Step 02

Create the flap with a femtosecond laser

    100% blade-free

Instead of a microkeratome blade, a femtosecond laser creates a corneal flap using rapid pulses of light. The flap is lifted to expose the tissue underneath. This changes how the flap is created but does not remove the need for careful screening and informed consent.

  3. 03Step 03

Reshape the cornea with the excimer laser

    Seconds per eye

The excimer laser then reshapes the underlying cornea according to your custom wavefront- and topography-guided map - correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. The laser tracks your eye in real time and the reshaping itself takes only seconds per eye.

  4. 04Step 04

Reposition the flap - no stitches

    Self-sealing

The flap is returned to position, where it adheres without stitches. Vision often improves early, while dryness, glare, halos, light sensitivity, and fluctuating sharpness can continue during healing. Driving and activity resume after appropriate clearance.

FAQ

Quick answers.

More questions? Call 214-972-2020 or book a free visit.

  • Does LASIK hurt?
Numbing drops are used before treatment. Pressure can be felt during flap creation, and irritation, tearing, dryness, or light sensitivity can occur afterward. Symptoms and recovery vary by patient.
  • How long until I can drive?
You need a driver after surgery. Driving can resume only after the post-op exam confirms that your vision and healing meet the required standard.
  • Will I need glasses again later in life?
LASIK corrects your prescription as it is today. Most patients enjoy clear vision for decades, but everyone develops presbyopia in their 40s and may want reading glasses then. Custom Lens Replacement can address that when the time comes.
  • Is LASIK safe in 2026?
LASIK has established benefits and known risks. Careful screening lowers avoidable risk but cannot eliminate complications such as dry eye, glare, halos, undercorrection, overcorrection, infection, inflammation, or flap problems. The relevant FDA patient booklet should be reviewed before deciding.
  • Can I get LASIK if I have astigmatism?
Many approved LASIK platforms treat astigmatism within defined ranges. The amount and regularity of astigmatism, corneal shape, thickness, and other measurements determine whether LASIK or another procedure fits.
  • Can LASIK correct farsightedness?
Some FDA-approved LASIK platforms treat hyperopia, or farsightedness, within defined ranges. Because presbyopia and age-related lens changes can overlap with hyperopia, patients approaching or over 40 should also compare monovision and lens-based options.
  • How much does LASIK cost?
We don't list prices on procedure pages because the right number depends on the right plan for your eyes. See our Affordability page for the complete breakdown - insurance, FSA/HSA, and financing.
