How it works

How All-Laser LASIK works.

  1. 01Step 01

    Map your eye in 3D

    Diagnostics

Every All-Laser LASIK procedure begins with detailed corneal mapping and wavefront analysis. We measure the curvature, thickness, and unique optical fingerprint of each eye - including how light travels through your entire visual system - so the treatment plan is built from your diagnostics, not a generic protocol.

  2. 02Step 02

Create the flap with a femtosecond laser

    100% blade-free

Instead of a blade, a femtosecond laser creates a thin, precise corneal flap using rapid pulses of light. The flap is gently lifted to expose the corneal tissue underneath. This blade-free step is what makes modern LASIK so consistent and safe.

  3. 03Step 03

Reshape the cornea with the excimer laser

    Seconds per eye

The excimer laser then reshapes the underlying cornea according to your custom wavefront- and topography-guided map - correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. The laser tracks your eye in real time and the reshaping itself takes only seconds per eye.

  4. 04Step 04

Reposition the flap - no stitches

    Self-sealing

The flap is folded back into its original position, where it adheres naturally without stitches and begins healing almost immediately. Most patients notice clearer vision within hours and return to normal activities within a day or two.

The honest version

Why we don't discount All-Laser LASIK

$250-an-eye LASIK ads aren't real - they're bait that turns into a much longer bill once you're in the chair: 'premium' lasers, aftercare programs, enhancement guarantees. We quote one honest, all-in number - with 0% APR financing if you'd rather spread it out.

FAQ

Quick answers.

More questions? Call 214-972-2020 or book a free visit.

  • Does LASIK hurt?
No. Numbing drops mean you don't feel the laser. You may feel pressure for about 30 seconds when the flap is created. Most patients describe the experience as faster and easier than they expected.
  • How long until I can drive?
Most patients are cleared to drive at their 1-day post-op exam. We always recommend a friend or family member drive you home from surgery.
  • Will I need glasses again later in life?
LASIK corrects your prescription as it is today. Most patients enjoy clear vision for decades, but everyone develops presbyopia in their 40s and may want reading glasses then. Custom Lens Replacement can address that when the time comes.
  • Is LASIK safe in 2026?
It's safer than it has ever been. Modern all-laser platforms, better diagnostics, and stricter candidate screening have made LASIK one of the most-studied and most-validated elective procedures in medicine.
  • Can I get LASIK if I have astigmatism?
Yes - LASIK reliably corrects most cases of astigmatism. Severe astigmatism may be better treated with a different procedure; we'll tell you up front which fits your eyes.
  • How much does LASIK cost?
We don't list prices on procedure pages because the right number depends on the right plan for your eyes. See our Affordability page for the complete breakdown - insurance, FSA/HSA, and financing.
