EVO ICL is an Implantable Collamer Lens placed behind the iris through a small incision. It may fit qualifying myopia without laser removal of corneal tissue. Thin corneas or dry-eye symptoms do not automatically establish candidacy: chamber depth, endothelial cells, prescription, and overall eye health must also support treatment. Vision can improve early, but the result and recovery are individual.

EVO ICL
A Collamer lens placed behind the iris without laser removal of corneal tissue. It may fit qualifying myopia when LASIK is unsuitable. Removal or exchange requires another operation; vision and recovery vary.
Best for: High myopia (-3 to -20D), thin corneas, dry-eye-prone eyes, patients told they can't get LASIK
Two advanced lasers reshape the cornea in about 15 minutes. Fast recovery, wide eligibility, and decades of outcomes data — but it requires adequate corneal thickness and a prescription within its treatment range.
Best for: Stable prescriptions within range, healthy corneas, fastest visual recovery
The natural lens is replaced with an intraocular lens. Selected patients may reduce glasses dependence, but age over 40 alone does not establish candidacy. Lens designs have different near-vision, glare, and contrast tradeoffs.

Trip one is a complimentary consultation — about an hour. Trip two is surgery day. Many Allen patients cluster both into morning visits and are home before lunch.

What is EVO ICL?

Why can't I just get LASIK?
LASIK reshapes the cornea, which requires adequate thickness and a prescription within its safe range. If your myopia is above about -8 to -10D or your corneas are thin, LASIK removes too much tissue to be safe. EVO ICL bypasses that limitation entirely.
How fast is recovery?
Early vision and comfort vary. Follow-ups check pressure, lens position, and healing. Confirm driving, work, and lifting restrictions with the team rather than planning around a guaranteed next-day return.
Is EVO ICL reversible?
The lens can be surgically removed or exchanged. That requires another operation with its own risks and does not guarantee that your vision returns to its pre-surgery state.
What if I'm over 40?
EVO ICL works best when your natural lens is still clear. If you're over 45 and presbyopia is the main concern, Custom Lens Replacement may be a better fit — and Dr. Shehz performs both.
